Two Women Go Beyond Bread To Create A Powerful Health Podcast Made In Scotland

Allergy mom Sabine Klaus-Carter and registered nutritionist Cara Redpath team up to share health insights in their weekly podcasts

Sabine Klaus-Carter, the CEO of Calvin’s Free From Foods took her drive to promote healthy living and eating a notch higher after launching her weekly Instagram podcasts during the lockdown. The developer of the popular Original Coconut Flat Bread partnered with Cara Redpath (DipCNM, Dip Child Health, MBANT, CNHCreg) and they have gone on to do over 40 episodes.

“Cara and I always talk about a variety of health conditions and how to make life healthier. We both live and breathe healthy living whilst managing both our own personal health issues. When we could no longer meet in person, we would speak over video chat and decided that we should share our insights, experiences, and topics on Instagram live recordings,” said Sabine Klaus-Carter.

“I have been seeing clients over Lockdown who had reached the end of the road with their health and often simple dietary changes made a massive difference to their wellbeing. The videos are not replacing seeking medical advice but I hope that it empowers people to make simple changes to look after their health and get checked by a doctor if something has been concerning them,” said Cara Redpath.

The podcast series has become increasingly popular in recent times, covering a wide range of topics, including food allergies, gluten-free meals, low carb, foods, veganism, and a host of others. The podcast resonates with Sabine’s goal of helping as many people as possible enjoy delicious food irrespective of their condition. Cara and Sabine have been working together for over 5 years, as Cara was one of the first taste testers of the Original Coconut Flat Bread inspired by Sabine’s son Calvin who has multiple food allergies and could not eat any commercially available bread.

Sabine decided to close her corporate video production and launched Calvin’s Free From Foods in July 2020 to help others who are on restricted diets due to food allergies, gluten intolerance, autoimmune diseases, or health reasons. The brand’s popularity has grown and recently won Gold at the Free From Food Awards for the Bread and Start-Up categories. Currently, Sabine is a runner-up for Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year for Scotland & Northern Ireland at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
